My Robert Plant Fandom

June 18th, 2009 | By davetaylor-wafx in Uncategorized | No Comments »

For those you may remember from the morning show years I’ve always been a big Robert Plant and Led Zeppelin fan. When I was younger I discovered Led Zeppelin’s fourth album in my brother’s record collection and after hearing many songs on the radio I was able to put 2 and 2 together and figured out where all this great music was coming from. I did got into Plant’s solo career and at the dawn of the internet discovered that there were many Led Zeppelin websites but none dedicated to Plant. That changed in 1996 when I made the first Plant website. The page is still going strong over 13 years later at robertplanthomepage.com

plantwavesA couple of years ago I actually produced a CD called Plant Waves: A Robert Plant Tribute featuring different artists covering his work. It was quite the task to say in a few words. In my next blog I will tell you about my meeting with Robert Plant and his reaction to the album.

You know I didn’t expect them to lose at home when it was a game 7. Pittsburgh is a good team and last year I thought that they would be back to win it, just wasn’t hoping it would be this year. You can’t always get what you want in sports. Sadly the Tigers lost 2 out 3 to the Pirates in Pittsburgh as Dontrelle Willis imploded on the mound again. At least the Tigers are still in for first.
